Just as Obama is reaping the praise over endorsing the freedom to marry, a major donor to Romney’s campaign has pulled out over Romney’s recent pledges to push for a federal constitutional amendment to ban same-sex couples from marriage.. It just underscores the point that marriage is personal.

Speaking of Mittens, Michelangelo Signorile gives a bit more context to Romney’s claim that homosexuality wasn’t on the radar in 1963. At least one story of ’70s homophobia has a happy ending, when a student apologizes to his teacher.

Meanwhile, Colorado Republicans use procedural manipulation to doom civil unions, sending the bill to an inappropriate committee to avoid a losing vote — Colorado has both the popular and legislative support to take another step towards equality.

But dogmatic Republican obstructionism might not last too much longer: Top Republican pollster advises “evolution” on LGBT issues.
